Ouriou, Susan Bio

Susan Ouriou has been short-listed twice for the Governor General's Award for Literary Translation. Specializing in translations of works in French and Spanish into English, her translations have included Michèle Marineau's The Road to Chlifa, Guillaume Vigneault's Necessary Betrayals and The Thirteenth Summer by José Luis Olaizola.
A former advisory member of the BILTC council and faculty for The Banff Centre's Emerging Aboriginal Writers residency, Susan has taught translation at the University of Calgary, helped to create and edit a bi-annual national translation anthology, TransLit and written a novel Damselfish. She is currently the director of the Banff International Translation Centre at The Banff Centre.
