Hausner, Beatriz Bio

Beatriz Hausner, née au Chili, est poète et traductrice, elle habite Toronto, en Ontario et a à son actif quelque 20 titres de poésie, de fiction et de littérature pour enfants, principalement traduits de l’espagnol à l’anglais.

Sa poésie s’inspire des traditions de l’Amérique hispanique et du surréalisme international, styles littéraires de la plupart des auteurs qu’elle a traduits, dont Rosamel del Valle, Enrique Molina, Olga Orozco, César Moro, Alvaro Mutis et son beau-père, Ludwig Zeller, aussi l’un des principaux auteurs du surréalisme contemporain.

Beatriz est fréquemment invitée à l’émission Talking Book de la CBC, elle est critique pour des journaux et des revues. Beatriz a été présidente de l’Association des traducteurs littéraires du Canada (ATTLC) et l’une des fondatrices du Banff International Literary Translation Centre (BILTC). Elle travaille présentement comme bibliothécaire dans une bibliothèque publique de Toronto.

Beatriz Hausner est la représentante de la League of Canadian Poets (LCP).
