Jeffrey Mackie was born and educated in Ottawa and moved to Montréal where he now lives and writes. Jeffrey studied Political Science and Theology at University of Ottawa and McGill.

He also worked for six years with homeless, mentally ill people. Jeffrey is passionate about literature and poetry. He has four chapbooks available, namely SONORE, published at Onanist Press in 1999. His texts have appeared in many magazines and revues such as Quills,Vallum and 100 Poets Against the War.

Jeffrey works at CKUT 90.3 FM radio and receives various Spoken Word artists on the weekly Friday Morning After Show. Jeffrey also regularly participates in public readings of Montréal, including The Yellow Door Poetry and Prose Reading Series, ran by Ilona Martonfi.
